ARCHITECTURAL & INTERIORS PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRESS
PROCESS
Working with architects, builders, and interior designers across British Columbia, I approach each project with the same care and intention you bring to your work. From concept to delivery, the process is tailored to capture your project at its highest potential—visually, emotionally, and professionally.
01 – Pre-Shoot Consultation
Understanding Your Project and Vision
Every project begins with a discovery call or email exchange. We’ll discuss your goals, whether it’s building your portfolio, entering an award, publishing, or client presentation. We’ll also cover:
Design narrative and key architectural features
Ideal image style (natural light, editorial, high contrast, etc.)
Scope and access: interiors, exteriors, aerials, twilight
Intended usage: marketing, web, social, press, print
Publication or award submission specs (if applicable)
This ensures the photography supports your design intent and professional objectives.
02 - Creative Planning & Site Review
Strategic Preparation for Visual Impact
Before the shoot, I’ll review architectural plans, renderings, or previous photos to understand orientation and composition opportunities. We’ll align on:
Best times for natural light and shadow play
Drone permissions (as a certified Advanced Drone Pilot)
On-site logistics, access, staging, and cleanliness
Weather considerations and rescheduling protocols
Site-specific challenges (e.g., reflections, nearby construction)
You’ll receive a shoot prep checklist to ensure the space is photo-ready, including staging tips and key design details to highlight.
03 – Photography Day
Intentional Composition. Calm, Professional Presence.
On shoot day, I work independently or alongside your team. I carefully compose images that balance space, structure, light, and material. Coverage may include:
Hero exterior shots, context views, and entry sequences
Interior-wide angles, intimate vignettes, and spatial flow
Architectural details, material intersections, and moments of craft
Aerial perspectives (if applicable)
Optional dusk/twilight shots for mood and drama
I work quietly and respectfully on-site, always aligning with the rhythm of your team and environment.
04 – Post-Production & Editing
Subtle, Editorial-Grade Finishing
Images are professionally edited with a restrained, natural approach that enhances clarity without artificial distortion. Post-processing includes:
Color correction and white balance
Perspective correction and vertical alignment
Retouching distractions (e.g., cords, outlets, minor reflections)
Tonal balancing to reflect how the space feels, not just how it looks
The final product: clean, timeless images with editorial polish, ready for publication, awards, or portfolio use.
05 – Delivery & Licensing
On-Brand Assets, Delivered Professionally
Final high-resolution images are delivered in a curated online gallery, typically within 5–10 business days. You'll receive:
Full-res files (TIFF or JPG) for print
Web-optimized files
Cropped versions for social, if requested
Clear licensing terms suited to your usage (commercial, editorial, portfolio, etc.)
Optional add-ons: press kits, social-ready image sets, or award submission prep.
